What do I need to create a VR Project?

To create a Yulio VR project, you’ll first need a method for creating VR-ready content. Content for your VR projects can be created in a few different ways, including through scenes rendered from CAD programs and even 360 photography. Keep reading to learn about the different ways you can create content for VR.

Method 1: Yulio Jump

To make integration with Yulio quicker and easier, we created Yulio Jump. Yulio Jump is our cloud-based rendering engine available through the Yulio plugin for Revit, SketchUp and CET. With a few simple clicks, you can turn your CAD model into an immersive VR project in minutes.

To get started with Yulio Jump, visit our CAD Plugins page.

Method 2: Creating Content using CAD

Yulio uses cubemaps, equirectangular images or spherical panoramas to create immersive VR projects, meaning Yulio is compatible with any CAD program that can natively produce these files. Once you have your compatible source files, you can upload them directly to Yulio to create your project.

Method 3: Creating Content using 360 Photos

Yulio is also compatible with 360 photography. 360 photography cameras generally shoot in either stereoscopic or monoscopic. Both are compatible for Yulio however for true VR, you will need a stereoscopic photo. Stereoscopic is what gives your photos depth and makes it feel truly immersive in VR. In comparison, monoscopic photos will feel more flat and not as realistic.

Once you have taken your photos with your 360 camera, you can upload them directly to Yulio to create your project. Don’t forget – when you are taking your photos use a tripod and set the camera lens height at approximately eye level for the best effect in VR.
