How to Scan a QR Code and Send Projects to Your Headset
Yulio’s View By QR Code feature makes it easier than ever for your clients to view VR projects, interact with AR models, and jump into a virtual Collaborate session right from their VR headset.
With View by QR Code, all your clients need to view your experiences is the QR code specific to the VR project, AR model or Collaborate session, a Meta Quest headset and the free Yulio Viewer app. No Yulio account is required.
Who can use View by QR Code?
Anyone can use View by QR Code, however it is most helpful for clients and teammates outside of your Yulio account. This is because it allows external users to view VR experiences on their own headset without having to connect the headset to a Yulio account or Client Gallery.
If you have a Yulio account, you can still use View by QR Code, however, you may find it more convenient to connect your headset directly to your account.
What do I need to use View by QR Code?
To use the View by QR Code feature, you must have a Meta Quest headset with a full-color camera—such as the Quest Pro, 3/3S or newer. The camera is used to scan the QR Code.
Next, install the free Yulio Viewer app on your headset from the Meta Horizon store. No Yulio account is required.
How to Scan a QR Code & View a VR Project
Start by having the VR project open in browser mode. Next, click on the headset icon in the top right hand corner. You can use any project, or check out our sample project here.

Here you will find the project QR code to scan with your VR headset.

Next, put on your Meta Quest headset and open the Yulio Viewer app.
Please note, if you have a Yulio account and your headset is connected to your account under the Headsets tab, you do not need to scan the QR code. The project will be instantly sent to your headset.
Once you are in the Yulio Viewer app lobby, look down to find the Scan Yulio QR Code button and then select it.

Point the scanner box at the QR code on your browser. It will automatically scan the QR code and begin to load your project.

To find the AR models QR code, navigate to your edit project page and then under the Assets tab select AR.

Next, select the QR code icon next to the AR model you would like to share.

This will open the AR models QR code. Scan the QR code directly or share it with colleagues, clients or insert it directly into presentations.

Having Trouble Scanning the QR Code?
In order for View by QR Code to work, you must ALLOW access to three settings under the Privacy & Security settings of your Meta Quest headset. You should be prompted to enable these when you open the Yulio app:
- Allow this app to access your spatial data?
- Allow this app to take photos and videos of your avatar experience?
- Allow this app to access your headset cameras?
Enabling these Meta settings allows Yulio to utilize the headset cameras to be able to scan the QR code and instantly send the projects to your headset.
If you are not prompted to do so directly within the Yulio app or if you have previously disabled them, you can find these settings under the Settings menu for the Meta Quest headset. To access these settings, open the headset settings and then select Privacy & Safety > App Permissions. Select each one (Avatar Camera, Headset Camera and Spatial Data) and toggle them on for the Yulio Viewer app.

Return to Yulio, and your Scan By QR code will now scan successfully.
If you are still having trouble, please email us at clientsuccess@yulio.com.
