How to Make Virtual Reality Part of Your Firm’s Branding
So you’ve just stepped into the world of virtual reality, and you’re quickly discovering what an amazing business tool it can be. Oh, and how straightup cool it is. But if you’re wondering how to make virtual reality a more integrated part of your brand and service offering, here’s a few tips to get you started.
Spread the word.
Explain your design and collaboration process clearly to your clients in the early stages, and how you integrate virtual reality with this process. Reassure them that you use this technology for their benefit over anything else, and then–if you really want to impress them–whip out a headset and show them what you’re talking about.
You can do this while networking, with a prospect, at your neighborhood barbecue–you name it. It’s a great way to start branding yourself or your business as technological innovators.
Mark out a little website territory.
Be sure to spread your virtual reality hype over to your website. Feature it as part of your services page, mention it on your blog, and even post an update (it’s a great excuse for a quick, personal video) front and center on your homepage.
If your business is active on social, consider posting the occasional picture of people trying headsets on–bonus points if you capture the “holy guacamole” moment.
Invest in the right hardware (you can even brand it).
A small initial investment in higher-level hardware (like a $140 Samsung Gear VR as opposed to a $10 Google Cardboard) can really make a difference when you present your designs in virtual reality.
