Generating AR Assets using Yulio Jump for Revit

Yulio’s AR Hotspot feature allows you to bring elements to life and see how your digital products can interact with the physical world using Augmented Reality. With Yulio’s AR Hotspot feature, you can insert an AR Hotspot into your VR experience to see the product in full 360, and take it one step further by using your phone or tablet to actually see the product in your physical space. AR hotspots allow you to show how your products or designs will interact with your clients real world space, directly from your VR experiences.

Yulio Jump for Revit makes generating AR assets simple. Simply use our AR tagging convention outlined below and all AR assets you have tagged, will be rendered and automatically uploaded to your VR experience in Yulio, ready for viewing.

How to Tag AR Assets

To export augmented reality (AR) assets and have them be created as AR hotspots in your VR projects – you must first tag items in your model using Yulio’s AR tagging convention.

Begin by selecting the item(s) you would like to tag as an AR asset. Then select the Create Group icon.

From there, in the name field, enter Yulio’s AR tag. The tag is #yulioar=“tag name”

For example, your tag could be #yulioar=“Office Chair” or  #yulioar=“desk”

Select Ok.

For the group naming convention, the following characters are not allowed:

( / \ : ? ‘ < > | * )

When rendering with Yulio, ensure you select the Export Augment Reality Assets checkbox in the render pop up. All assets you have tagged as AR will now be rendered as AR hotspots.

That’s it! Any AR assets you have tagged in your model will now be uploaded to Yulio and generated as an AR hotspot in your experience.
